Welcome to HP Woodworking!

I’m a Sheffield-based woodworker creating handcrafted chopping boards and charcuterie boards from beautiful hardwoods and select exotic timbers.

What began as a hobby has grown into a passion for turning raw materials into pieces that are made to be used, loved, and shared around the table.

If you see anything board that you like but would prefer it in different wood(s), please get in touch via the contact page.

Board care

Care Instructions for Your Wooden / Epoxy Resin Board

With proper care, your board will stay beautiful and functional for many years. Please follow these simple guidelines:

🌿 Cleaning

* Hand wash only. Use mild dish soap and warm water after each use.

* Never soak your board or leave it submerged in water — it can cause the wood to warp or crack.

* Do not put in the dishwasher. The heat and moisture will damage both wood and resin.

* After washing, wipe dry immediately with a clean towel and allow to air dry standing up.

💧 Maintenance

* To keep the wood hydrated and looking its best, oil your board regularly (every 3–4 weeks, or as needed). Use food-grade mineral oil or a board butter.

* Apply a thin layer to both sides, let it soak in for several hours or overnight, and wipe off any excess.

☀️ Usage Tips

* Avoid exposing your board to direct sunlight or placing it near heat sources — this can cause cracking or discolouration.

* Avoid cutting directly on the epoxy portion if you want to preserve its shine.

🚫 Stain & Odour Removal

* To remove light stains or odours, sprinkle coarse salt or baking soda on the board, rub gently with half a lemon, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
